Kings Landing/Beginner SLR/Beginner Photoshop Courses in Fredericton!

Hello all. I’ve set some dates for some upcoming Fredericton area courses in July, let me know asap if you are in!

1) A Day at Kings Landing Historical Settlement Sunday July 5th
2) Two Day Beginner SLR Weekend Course in Fredericton
3) Two Day Beginner Photoshop for Photographers Course in Fredericton

1) A Day at Kings Landing Historical Settlement with photographer Noel Chenier
Sunday July 5th
Time: 10am - 5 pm
The cost will be $75, with admission included in the cost. Bring payment with you that day.

Spend a day going back in time at the Kings Landing Historical Settlement on a photo field trip. We'll visit the various attractions at the site, including the many historic homes with their beautiful gardens, the farms, plants, and animals, and the famous water wheel! I'll be there to guide you on various approaches to photographing at each location and answer all your questions.

Required for the course:

A 35mm digital or film SLR, or digital point and shoot camera, preferably with manual (M) or TV mode.
IT IS NOT A REQUIREMENT TO HAVE PREVIOUSLY TAKEN A COURSE WITH NOEL. Even if you only use your camera on AUTO mode, you can take the course. But don't worry, I'll fix you of that pretty quickly! :)

CARPOOL OPPORTUNITIES
I can take up to 6 people in my van, so anyone from Saint John who would like to go can get a ride with me!

What to bring-
All your equipment-lenses, filters, tripod
cables, chargers, extra batteries(there will not be

make sure your camera batteries are all fully charged, and your memory cards
are empty! There likely won't be easy access to electricity on site!

2) TWO DAY BEGINNER SLR WEEKEND COURSE IN FREDERICTON
Dates: Saturday July 18th Sunday July 19th
Time: 9-5pm both days
Location: Fredericton, City Motel, with shooting in various locations in the city.
Cost: $250
Required for the course: A 35mm film or digital SLR or advanced slr sytle digital point and shoot style camera(canon S3/S5/G9/G10, Fuji Finepix 5200-9000)If your not sure if your camera fits, email noel.

A two day workshop for photographers with film or digital SLR cameras, you will be you will learn the features of a SLR camera, lenses, films types, metering, and lighting. Other topics covered include composition, portraiture, landscape and nature, travel, and creative techniques. Outdoor shooting and field trips will also take place, at various locations in the city including the Odell park.
The cost is $250 for the workshop, which includes a one hundred page course manual with the complete information covered in the course enhanced with photographs and illustrations.

3)TWO DAY BEGINNER PHOTOSHOP FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS COURSE IN FREDERICTON

Saturday June 27th, Sunday June 28th 9-4:30pm on both days
Location: City Motel, Fredericton
Cost: $200, includes a comprehensive manual complete with all information/techniques covered with illustrations.

About the Course
As a user of Photoshop on a daily basis over the past ten years, I will teach you all the basic Photoshop tools and techniques you can use to manipulate and enhance your images.

During the course, you will learn
-all the basic tools(crop, selection, move, brushes, etc)
-how to resize images for various uses(print, email, online)
-the various file formats and when to use them
-how to use layers to combine images
-adding text to images
-proper techinques and tools to retouch, adjust, color correct, and sharpen
your images
-retouching old photographs
-how to hand color images

and tons of other fun and creative ways to make your photographs look great!

Assignments will be given to complete during the week between classes to give you time to work on the skills and knowledge gained.

Required for the course:
-A mac or PC laptop with the following software installed
-Photoshop CS/CS2/CS3/CS4
or Photoshop Elements version 5.0 or higher
If you have not yet purchased a version of photoshop, you can download
demo software here: www.adobe.com
(you will need to register for an adobe ID, but you then can get access
to lots of stuff) NOTE-THE DOWNLOADS ARE A THIRTY DAY TRIAL, WHICH STARTS ONCE YOU DOWNLOAD THE DEMO, NOT WHEN YOU INSTALL IT. SO IF YOU ARE GOING TO USE THE DEMO VERSION, DOWNLOAD IT THE WEEK BEFORE THE COURSE!

required shots will be given, I will also provide examples for students to
work on.
